Are Tresco Lighting products safety listed?
Yes. All Tresco lighting systems are registered and certified by ETL and/or UL. In addition, a majority of the individual lighting components (lights, power supplies, and accessories) are also registered and certified by ETL and UL.
Can I cut my wires and customize my lighting system?
Cutting wires is not recommended, as it will instantly void the product warranty and safety listing.
Is it Ok to max out the wattage on my power supply?
While the transformers will run properly when taken to the max, it is not a suggested practice. It can reduce the life of the power supply. Please note: wattage listed for FlexTape is per foot.
How many dimmers can I use with one universal remote?
A limit of 2 dimmers per universal remote is advised.
What options do I need to take into consideration when looking at purchasing indoor lighting?
There are several choices you need to make when selecting your under cabinet lighting. Those options include: code compliance, technology, finish, color temperature, light spread, and placement within a room.
Can I run Tresco wires behind walls?
No, Tresco power supplies are Class 2. The wires need to remain exposed and are not permitted to run behind walls, ceilings, or floors.
What is the maximum distance I can extend the light from the power supply cord?
15 feet maximum. It is recommended that you use only Tresco brand extension/linking cords.
