Penofin First Step Prep is formulated for hardwoods but can also be used on softwoods. It's easy to apply, fast to clean up, and biodegradable. Most common applications include decking, fencing, and siding, as well as boats and furniture.

Penofin First Step Prep comes as a concentrated powder of hydrogenated crystals that is to be mixed with water to create a powerful solution. Each 1-quart container will make 2-4 gallons of solution (depending on the desired amount of water used), and each gallon of solution will cover about 300-400 square feet, for an approximate total coverage of 600-1,200 square feet per container.
