Manual Estimating

If your deck has multiple curves, turns and shapes, you can easily manually estimate the number of clips you will need.

  • Multiply the number of joists by the number of decking boards to equal the number of fasteners needed. You will need one fastener at each deck board and joist intersection.
  • 175 fasteners will cover approximately 100 sq. ft. (using 5.5" decking boards on 16" centers).
