Product Compatibility

TC-120 is ideal for ¾" mahogany and ironwood decking. If you are using 1" or 5/4" grooved decking, you should use the Tiger Claw TC-G.

If using pre-grooved decking be sure that the groove is the correct dimension and location on the board so that it is compatible with the TC-120 fastener (see groove specs below). A TC-120 Slot Cutter can be used to create grooves in non-grooved boards.

The TC-120 is not compatible with the Tiger Claw gun.

TC-120 will work on the following decking lumber varieties:
Mahogany Ipe Brazilian Red Wood
Red Balau Spotted Gum Merbau
Most ¾" Exotic Hardwoods
Consult your lumber professional regarding the following uncommon wood in your decking project:
Cypress (soft)
Should not be used with:
Composite Decking
(Use TC-3)
Pre-Grooved 1" or 5/4" Decking
(Use TC-G)
Cellular PVC Decking
(Use ProClip)
Pre-Grooved Trex
(Use Hideaway)
Pre-Grooved TimberTech (Use CONCEALoc) Any material prone to high shrinkage
Pressure Treated
(Use TC-2)
