A fastener is needed at every intersection of a joist and a support.
When using 5.5" decking with 16" on center joists (most regular wood and composites)
- Square footage x 1.75 = # of Fasteners
For other configurations:
- # of Decking Boards x # of Supports = # of Fasteners
- # of Fasteners / 100 = # Boxes (round up to next box)
