Do star drive wood screws require a custom bit?

No. All Screw Products Star Drive Wood Screws use a standard Torx drive.

What size driver bits are available?

Why is screw breakage so uncommon?

Star Drive Wood Screws are heat treated and hardened for strength. The drive, thread specifications, heat treatment and hardened process combine to make it make it very difficult to break Screw Products screws.

Why are Screw Products star drive screws better than Square, Phillips and Quadrex drives currently on the market?

Star Drive offers twice the torque of Phillips of Square. Spin out is virtually eliminated. There is virtually no end load (pushing) needed to drive Screw Products screws. Screws can be reused multiple times, if needed.

What applications require stainless steel screws?

Screw Products 305 grade Stainless Steel is excellent for Cedar and Redwood applications. Stainless Steel Screws should be used where the eventual corrosion of plated or coated products could become a problem. In many cases, it is better to select the higher quality Stainless Steel Screws for projects to avoid staining, rusting and black streaks that may occur from non-stainless steel screws. What is the bronze coating applied to Bronze Star Screws?

Screw Products Bronze screws are coated with a triple ceramic coating that has shown over 1200 hours of corrosion resistance in both ACQ and salt spray conditions. Bronze Star is a proprietary SKT11 coating. The Bronze coating found on Screw Products Star Drive screws gives the fastener extra corrosion resistance. Bronze Star screws are compatible with pressure treated lumber and can be used with tannic wood, such as Cedar and Redwood.
