We strongly recommend the Marksman Pro and Marksman Pro NB for both homeowners and contractors. The self gripping action, dual screw guides and durable construction of this tool make the $30 extra investement well worth it. We do not recommend the Marksman installation tool.

Stainless vs. ProTech Coated - Which One to Use?

Unless you are located near a salt water environment, the ProTech Coated fasteners are an excellent and economical choice for your project. Both Stainless and ProTech Coated fasteners are guaranteed against rust and corrosion for the life of your project.

How Many Do I Need?

Two fasteners are needed at the intersection of every deck board and deck joist. To rough estimate the number of fasteners, use the chart below.
